Slow computer are often the results of viruses, spy-ware, and ad-ware. These things make your computer act like it has been taken over by aliens. There are simple things you can do to keep your computer running at the speeds your ISP provides.

1.Anti-virus- Make sure you have an anti-virus installed and updated on your computer. You have to keep the virus definitions updated on a regular basis. 2.Spy-ware- Spy-ware programs will slow your computer down drastically. They can change your settings on things like your browser’s homepage. Web pages will load super slow. 3.Reboot the Modem- If you discover your internet seems to be running slower than usual try rebooting the modem. Unplug it and leave it for a minute or two. Once you plug it in your internet should pick back up again. Most problems with internet connections can be fixed by resetting the modem.

When your computer is running slow it can be very frustrating. You want to blame someone for the problems and your ISP may seem like a good choice, but they are usually not at fault.
